Celtic history goes back a long time, thousands and thousands of years. Early Celts had great skills with jewelery, metal and artwork and even weaponry. The Romans saw them as intense fighters and as warriors. Evidence of Celtic crosses have been seen throughout Ireland.
Throughout time modern day Celts have evolved and established symbols for themselves. Those of ancient Irish origin will wear there symbols throughout North America to let others know they are of Celtic heritage. There is not much history written down about these tribe's earlier origins but the symbols etc have been passed down throughout time. Themes such as the Celtic cross and other popular ancient Irish designs are kept alive through tattooing.
The fact is most Celtic designs come from Ireland where their history has deep and strong origins. A college found in Dublin, the trinity college has a lot of manuscripts that document the heritage of and symbols of Irish tradition. For many years the ancient Irish people have used these designs to bolster there emotional sense of life as well as a reminder of there heritage.
For those who come from Celtic descent, the Irish, Scots or the Welsh getting a Celtic tattoo is a great way for them to show how proud they are of there heritage. Getting a tattoo of this nature as well as showing pride in there heritage also is a tribute to there ancestors of the past. There not the easiest tattoos to do and can take hours. Unlike some other tattoos there's are very difficult tattoos to do, and are some of the most difficult in the world.
If you are from a Celtic heritage and have decided to get a tattoo first thing you need to do is find someone who is going to be very good at doing this tattoo.
