Unknown Legends Regarding Silk Neckties

Rather improbably, perhaps, the necktie may have originated with the ancient Egyptians. Wrapped around the neck and a long rectangular fabric is hanging on the shoulder. The prototype of neckties in the legend is similar to a short shawl. In ancient Egyptian culture the necktie represents many things, including the wearer's place on the social hierarchy. Not the ordinary civilians, only the noble is eligible to wear it. Today's tie actually evolved from an accessory which symbolized the Egyptian feudal hierarchy of many centuries ago. Inherited through the necktie evolution, it represents a clear class differentiation.

The British stories on neckties are the most interesting. According to the old legend, the ties were invented by British women. A food stained clothing is often a source of chagrin to a frustrated wife. Women would attach a piece of cloth to the collar to keep them clean. This is important in case he needs to dab at his mouth. Moreover, for decorative purposes, several pebbles are tacked into the end of a gentleman's shirt sleeve. King Louis XIV in France started the war to Austria in 1688. During one period, white scarves were worn by Austrian soldiers as a type of identification. The king liked that scarf which is known as Croatta. Wearing it in the palace but he made the scarf himself. As time passed, Croatta's style bored him, and he added the embroidery lace and tied a butterfly knot in the scarf's new design. Neckties instantly rose in popularity, thanks to Louis. Furthermore, as soon as the trend spread to the Army, everyone began to follow it. King Louis did so much for the Croatta that one branch of the French army was named the Croatta. King Louis' example was largely responsible for the necktie's growth in popularity. Had King Louis XIV not embraced this fashion, neckties might not be worn today. Within next hundreds of years the king had no idea how important his promotion for the modern fashion. The Croatta has been evolved into two categories in the current fashion industry: One is the bow tie from the upward development and the other is the necktie with the downward development.
