Paper Flowers for St. Patrick's Day
Making paper flowers for St. Patrick's Day is a great project you make at home with the kids or teachers can make with their students. It helps to have a little history and even mention of a few common item associated with St. Patrick's Day to inspire yourself or kids, students with ideas for making the paper flowers.
St. Patrick is known as the patron saint of Ireland, even though he was not born Irish. The shamrock is also associated with St. Patrick's Day as is the four-leaf clover and leprechauns. Even though most if not all of us have never seen any of the items mentioned above and or including the rainbow with the pot of gold at the end of it we just have to assume somewhere in the world it does exist. Now, that we have a few of those ideas of things related to St. Patrick's Day. What kind of flowers can you make?
We should also mention the color green. Originally green was not the official color of St. Patrick's Day it was blue. So how did the color change to green? Over the years, people stated wearing a green shamrock or ribbon on St. Patrick's Day and the color caught on green it has been ever sense.
Now, Let us look at some great paper flowers for St. Patrick's Day. Any green paper flower will work if you are making a green flower to wear or give to someone. The carnation is a popular St. Patrick's Day flower. You see people wearing them at parades or in pubs. You can also make a centerpiece of carnations in different shades of greens with a few gold colored carnations mixed in. This is a very pretty centerpiece for a dining room table.
If you want to make a corsage for someone, you can easily do that by making a flower of your choice in whatever shade of green you like. Then using a gold colored marker color just the tips of the flower you can even add a rainbow piece of ribbon tied into a small bow to add to it.
Even though a shamrock is not a paper flower you can make them, add a stem as well as four - leaf clovers, and make a centerpiece. You can use all greens or use green as the dominate color and make other flowers in pastel colors to compliment the green.
If you do not want to get pinched on St. Patrick's Day, simply make a green flower of any kind and pin it to your shirt! Making paper flowers for St. Patrick's Day can be a lot of fun!
