The Laws Of Attraction And Mankind Has Abandoned God
Alexander Solzhenitsyn wrote a 2000 page 3-volume work titled ‘The Gulag Archipelago', which earned him a Nobel Prize but caused him excessive trauma in his home country. For years it was banned in his native Russia until the late 1980's when the Soviet ban was lifted and now it is being republished and studied in Russian Schools; excellent progress. In an interview about the loss of millions of his people, Solzhenitsyn said there is really only one sentence that encapsulates how such a thing may happen and that is that ‘men have forgotten God.'
Chancellor Angela Merkel, leader of the Christian Democrat Party, said in a debate about multiculturalism and Islam: ‘We do not have too much Islam, we have too little Christianity.' She could not have said it clearer because in reality there is very little sign of Christ's Love and teachings than there is in today's Christianity.
It is no wonder really that Muslims and Hindus are persecuting Christians as far away as India and also in Iraq but will Christians ever use introspection and analyse their view of the world, no they shall not! In fact, will all religions ever analyse their views and assess their connection to the truth of God's word, probably not. It will take a lightening bolt from the sky for such an event to materialize but with God, all things are possible so hope shall spring eternal.
Two years prior to Barack Obama being elected President the Democrats rescued America from the throes of a fearful grip the Republicans held its people under; it was fearful. When the election results were announced one could physically feel the relief that resounded throughout journalism and how America was going to breathe again. Curious thing though, Republicans appear to say they have a closer link to God than Democrats do but that is probably a mirage or perhaps the modesty of Democrats.
We may pray that enlightenment shall prepare officials so truly positive results shall come about in the next presidential election; re-elect Obama. Whatever about political rhetoric or linguistic semantics let us seek divine guidance to direct respectable discourse away from the attack like system that has grown too common and may peace ensue.
Irish politics is as bad as anywhere and soon thank God we shall have an election and one may pray that the new government may be somewhat more enlightened with divine guidance than the current one. May Fianna Fáil rest in the peace of extinction! Hmmm is that a sign of offensive behaviour? Sincerely hope not as I do not intend it to be so but I shall not miss the FF party one iota ever and I do not think too many others shall either.
During the recent elections in the USA, a certain group of affiliates compiled a map of all the states highlighting Democratic representative opponents through the cross hairs of a rifle, brutal example of a return to the Wild West era what what. Now this begs the question should those affiliates be allowed to remain in public service especially now that the country is in the wake of a brutal assassination attempt of a Congresswoman and the death of six others with thirteen injured.
As funerals in Tucson commence we have to ask as a civilisation where are we going when wars and crime are not abating and debates have evolved to brutal displays of vitriolic verbiage resolving little but igniting anger. There has to be greater transparency in all vital and essential avenues that have direct influence on the population especially if an economic downturn occurs as a result of actions those representatives may have initiated.
Church leaders in particular have to beg the question are they following the message of God in their deliberations and are the flock also adhering to the message of God to love one another without bias. If one happens to peruse certain Christian rags, one may understand where the lack of Christ like tendencies originates. In the words of Isaiah 1:18: ‘Come says the Lord, Let us reason together.'
As a civilisation trudging through adversity, we do not require additional burdensome weight slowing our path as an anchor to a ship; instead, we need to pick up speed and progress with respectful diligence. Let us as a people walk side by side in friendly camaraderie especially as we delight with the bounty that awaits through facilitation of all the laws especially the Laws of Attraction.
Ponder through the records of history and listen to the voices of sages who have previously guided our path and let us learn that progress is steadier when we walk in the light and guidance systems of God. God bless.

Gulag $14.99 The Gulag--a vast array of Soviet concentration camps that held millions of political and criminal prisoners--was a system of repression and punishment that terrorized the entire society, embodying the worst tendencies of Soviet communism. In this magisterial and acclaimed history, Anne Applebaum offers the first fully documented portrait of the Gulag, from its origins in the Russian Revolution, through its expansion under Stalin, to its collapse in the era of glasnost. Applebaum intimately re-creates what life was like in the camps and links them to the larger history of the Soviet Union. Immediately recognized as a landmark and long-overdue work of scholarship, Gulag is an essential book for anyone who wishes to understand the history of the twentieth century. From the Trade Paperback edition. |

Gulag Voices $90 In this volume, the powerful voices of Gulag survivors will become accessible to English-speaking audiences for the first time through oral histories, rather than written memoirs. It brings together interviews with men and women, members of the working class and intelligentsia, people who live in the major cities and those from the "provinces," and from an array of corrective hard labor camps and prisons across the former Soviet Union. Its aims are threefold: 1) to give a sense of the range of the Gulag experience and its consequences for Russian society; 2) to make the Gulag relevant to English-speaking readers by offering comparisons to historical catastrophes they are likely to know more about, such as the Holocaust; and 3) to discuss issues of oral history and memory in the cultural context of Soviet and post-Soviet society. |

Gulag Boss $29.95 The searing accounts of Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn, Evgeniia Ginsberg and Varlam Shalamov opened the world's eyes to the terrors of the Soviet Gulag. But not until now has there been a memoir of life inside the camps written from the perspective of an actual employee of the Secret police. In this riveting memoir, superbly translated by Deborah Kaple, Fyodor Mochulsky describes being sent to work as a boss at the forced labor camp of Pechorlag in the frozen tundra north of the Arctic Circle. Only twenty-two years old, he had but a vague idea of the true nature of the Gulag. What he discovered was a world of unimaginable suffering and death, a world where men were starved, beaten, worked to death, or simply executed. Mochulsky details the horrific conditions in the camps and the challenges facing all those involved, from prisoners to guards. He depicts the power struggles within the camps between the secret police and the communist party, between the political prisoners (most of whom had been arrested for the generic crime of "counter-revolutionary activities") and the criminal convicts. And because Mochulsky writes of what he witnessed with the detachment of the engineer that he was, readers can easily understand how a system that destroyed millions of lives could be run by ordinary Soviet citizens who believed they were advancing the cause of socialism. Mochulsky remained a communist party member his entire life--he would later become a diplomat--but was deeply troubled by the gap between socialist theory and the Soviet reality of slave labor and mass murder. This unprecedented memoir takes readers into that reality and sheds new light on one of the most harrowing tragedies of the 20th century. |
