The Dolphin Experience offers a wide variety of diving experiences, the most popular being the Dolphin Swim. This is where you can swim and interact with the dolphins in a protected lagoon. You will enjoy a perfect mix of observing dolphin behaviors and relaxed swimming. This is a wonderful family adventure; children and adults are welcome to swim, interact or just observe with these beautiful creatures in their natural habitat. No special equipment needed to do this adventure just a swim suit and a little courage.
For the landlubbers perhaps a day of shopping and dining is more your style. The Marketplace is the home to 80 (eighty) boutiques, restaurants, bars, cafes and specialty shops. This is not the run of the mill t-shirt and souvenir shopping center; The Marketplace has everything from luxury jewelry, fine china, crystal, perfume and designer apparel and accessories stores, and all are duty-free. Take the day to browse the shops, enjoy a fine meal of Bahamian faire or sip an island drink at an open air café.
The Marketplace is also home to what is now one the largest straw markets in the Caribbean. Shoppers will enjoy choosing from the unique hand-crafted straw hats, bags, and sandals. There are also the brightly painted huts that house the smaller local vendors who have set up to sell locally-crafted woodcarving, handicrafts and souvenirs.
The Port Lucaya marketplace offers everything from casual to fine dining. From the fresh catch of the day seafood cook as an island delicacy, elegant continental fare, the specialties of Chinese and Tai cuisine, Greek, Italian, Haitian, British, Irish and Mexican every appetite will be pleased at Grand Bahamas's premier dining spot. Many of the restaurants offer eat-in or outside dinning, often with wonderful views overlooking the harbor, so if you are looking for a great place to shop and people watch the Marketplace is the place.
If pampering is more your idea of relaxing and unwinding then spend the day at the Our Lucaya Beach and Golf Resort Senses Spa and Fitness Center.
