Riverdance is undoubtedly the best form of dance every produced in the history of ballet dancing. The Irish step dancing has the real power to surprise and mesmerize its viewers when a group of skilled dancers perform such amazing leg movements that leave long term effects on the visitors mind. Riverdance, the Irish stepdancing has its roots back in 1994 and since then it has been a popular stage dance not only in Ireland but also in overseas cultures. The Riverdance show is currently performed by three production companies Boyne, Corrib and Foyle also the name of three rivers in Ireland.
Riverdance dancing has considerable impact on how people thing about dance and since its debut around 15 years back people stand up in line for hours to get the Riverdance tickets for the shows. However this success does not come handy and it involves a lot of mental and physical work both from Riverdance choreographers who always try to invent new leg moves and the dancers who put all their skills to produce a synchronized performance.
Riverside started its US tour on January 6, 2011 from Mobile, AL and will run through June 5 for performances in more than 50 cities of the country.  A Riverdance Canadian tour will kick start on April 5 and will run through May 8 for performances in 11 cities of Canada. The South African Riverside tour will open for performances in Johannesburg City on January 25 and in Cape Town on February 24. The Riverdance Australian tour has been geared up for performances in Perth, Sydney, Melbourne, and Brsbane and will run through from March 8 till April 12. Riverside will be in China till January 16 and then comes back to its native place Dublin, Ireland for performances from June 28 - August 28, 2011.
Riverside Irish dancing is a beautiful combination of dance, music and songs and it gives the audience an experience that directly touches their hearts.  The most innovative show on earth is composed by Bill Whelan, produced by Moya Doherty and directed by John McColgan and has played more than 10,000 performances in 40 countries across 4 continents of the world. The show also has been experienced by more than 22 million people over its performances span of 16 years.
The Riverside audience has seen the show dancers performing on a ground stage to date but now it moved one step ahead and now the amazing footwork will be performed on ice and by the skaters including a cast of Olympic, World and National champions and will go on air on NBC on Saturday, February 19 from 4 to 6PM.

The Sacred Dance of the Irish Circus (Hardcover) $144.06 A visual history of the Traveling circuses and shows that traveled the roads of Ireland between the 1920s and the arrival of television in the late 1960s and early 1970s. Professor OhAodha (pron: Oh-Hay) estimates there were more than 140 of these shows including circus shows, magic shows, revues, ?fit-ups? traveling theatres who traveled Ireland during the period ? and the 1940s was their zenith ? partly because many performers from other countries (especially via Britain) moved to Ireland to avoid persecution (this includes continental showmen as well as Jews and Roma trying to scratch a living as roaming entertainers and performers). Because of the Emergency in Eire (1939-1945) these groups remained independent of the commercialization of the music halls, theatres and cinemas in Britain and the ?end-of-pier? traditions since many newer forms of entertainment and communication were hindered by wartime isolation,poverty and lack of new product ---especially Hollywood and British films in neutral Southern Ireland--- since films ,as opposed live entertainment and plays, were subject to rigorous censorship and along with long delays before release.. This is a completely new area in contemporary Irish Studies. Professor OhAodha points out that little has been written about the history of circus in Ireland and there no visual culture books relating to this subject ? and so the photos and the cultural history of the traveling circuses and roadside acts in rural Ireland open a new discussion of rural Ireland in the Free State, DeValera, wartime and immediate postwar years.
