Diamond Engagement Rings for Men

Apparently the feminists have finally managed to overturn the last vestiges of human sexuality and the idea of gender roles.  Why is this so?  Because women can now propose to their man with a man's engagement ring, dubbed a "mengagement ring" in England.  The next question is if the woman will call the man's mother and ask for permission.  Even more interesting is whether women will now be required to sign up for the draft and then equal to men in always, including the possibility that they can be sent off to war.  In the meantime, while that is being discussed by governments around the world, here are some options for those women who cannot bear to leave the gender roles in the status quo.

The whole idea of a woman proposing to a man stems from a certain amount of impatience.  Many women feel their biological clock is ticking and since they want to have children in a legitimate manner, they don't want to wait for the man to decide he is ready.  So instead, they drop the question and can rest assured they won't die childless.

First of all, men's engagement rings will more than likely not have a diamond, nor will be look like a woman's ring.  Rather, the men's ring will be wider than a woman's ring.  It will also be made of a heavy material such as Tungsten and Titanium and maybe something lighter, such as platinum, as long as it looks masculine and not something incredibly feminine.  It most certainly will not look like the traditional solitaire diamond engagement ring given to women.  This is because heavy, wide rings equal a more masculine looking ring.  In addition, the stones that may or may not be in the ring are likely to be very subtle and practically unnoticeable, with tiny diamonds and onyx being the most popular.  Onyx is popular because it is black and black is still considered to be very masculine color.  Diamonds are popular, because they are diamonds and a subtly set diamond looks fairly decent in a ring.

However, the ironic thing is that even though men's engagement rings tend to be understated in and subtle in regards to stone being set in them, they are not that way in regards to designs.  This is even more ironic considering that most men do not particularly care for jewelry and the fact that those who do not like jewelry would be ornate is slightly strange.  Men's engagement rings tend to have all kinds of ornate designs in and engraving on the, from simple designs to actually objects such as those on an Irish Claddagh ring.  In addition, some of the designs on men's engagement rings are completely original and are different enough to make them appear from a different period of time.  From another point of view, this is not so ironic.

In the past, men always showed off their wealth, whether through their own jewelry such as watches, cuff-links or other pieces of men's jewelry, or by dressing their wives up in jewelry.  In this vein, it is not so surprising that if a man is going to wear something like a men's engagement ring that he would insist that it be at least as ornate as that of a woman.
