Imagine how nervous you felt when you bought your first computer. You may have worked on a computer at your job. If you worked on a computer at your job, at least you had some knowledge about computers and how to work them. Now imagine you are an elderly person and know nothing about computers. Even scarier is you decide to purchase your own computer for your home.

The computer arrives and you have no clue how to hook it up. You cannot even ask your friends as they are all in the same boat as you are: no clue. Plus, most of them are in the nursing home while you live in your own home. Your computer sits in the box it was shipped to your house in.

One day your young grandson comes over to visit and wonders what is in the box. You let him know it is a computer and he offers to help you set it up. I bet you would feel relieved that finally your big purchase is going to be put to use.

As your grandson is hooking up your computer he is explaining computer terminology to you. Grandma makes some silly comments to those who know computer lingo. It is cute how naïve Timmy's grandmother is, but in real life that is how a lot of people are. A lot of elderly people can identify with grandma.

This is a cute book for younger children to see how different their world is compared to how their elder's world was while growing up. The silly comments grandma makes on the mouse, web, etc. will leave you smiling and your children giggling. This is a fun way to share with children a little information on computers while reading to them. Share your bonding time together learning a few basics about computers while looking at the vibrant illustrations.

I read this book to my children and they all gave it five out of five stars for the pictures and storyline. The three children laughed at grandma's comments and crinkled up their noses surprised that someone older did not know what a computer mouse, the World Wide Web, etc. is.
