Omega was founded by Louis Brandt in Switzerland. The name Omega was quoted from Greek alphabet, which is regarded as a symbol of achievement and perfection. Then the brand quickly developed into the largest manufacture of wristwatches in Switzerland since the introduction of Labrador movement. Omega has always adhered to producing the best timepieces for the world and its production reached over 100, 000 watches at that time.
The year 1894 could be seen as a milestone to the brand since that all the timepieces manufactured by it were under the name of Omega. The banker of the brand brought forward the name since the successful launching of the pocket watches.
One prominent timepiece that produced in 1957 was the Omega Speedmaster, which was appointed by the NASA as their official timepiece.
All over the years Omega has kept on creating various designs of timepieces, and they are considered by many people as a combination of the finest materials and the greatest accuracy.
