People are always looking for new costume ideas each time that Halloween rolls around. I guess variety is the spice of life and what better way to have a spicy Halloween party than come in a truly unique costume. One such unique idea is the Viking costume.
Vikings stand out from many of the other peoples of that time because they traveled and colonized large parts of Europe and places like Iceland and Greenland. There are even theories that they may have settled on the North American continent. Often they would use force to colonize new lands, such as Britain and Ireland.

Consequently they were perceived as warrior like and fierce. But they also had a complex society and elaborate spiritual component to their lives.
