Arzberg porcelain believes in the concept of "tischkultur". A concept where the tabletop becomes a centralizing element, bringing together family & friends in a respite from hectic pace of everyday life a porcelain factory established in 1887 which is world renowned for its award winning collections.
Peter Schmidt is one of the outstanding designers in the world today. “Rediscovering the essentials,” this designer from Hamburg has enabled the German porcelain maker Arzberg to create the perfect set of dishes for the professional setting: Form 2006. The circle and square set the tone for this design, and their playful contrast creates tension and harmony simultaneously. Round plates with square surfaces, round cups with square handles, rectangular dishes,porcelain for every day, practical yet at the same time unique.
This is a lovely Art Deco influenced creamer and sugar bowl made by Schonwald in Arzberg Bavaria probably during the 1920's. The creamer has 3 designs on it. The sugar bowl is decorated front and back. Both pieces have a hand painted, Celtic looking, design consisting of blue love birds resting on a green and gold design that appears crown-like in shape.
